When the first group of college based Schools' Liaison Officers got together in 1995 to form an association, they didn't exactly pick a name which tripped off the tongue, so in 1999 the name was changed to the National Association of Scottish Colleges Schools' Liaison Officers, not much better, but at least it could be shortened to NASCSLO, as it remained until the Annual Conference of 2004. It was at this very popular annual event that the question of our rather wordy name came up and after much light-hearted discussion, it was agreed that we would go with the suggestion of Colin Baird, Secretary to School College Review Group at the Scottish Executive, and so it was that College Liaison Association with Scotland's Schools (CLASS) came about.
