Welcome to the Curriculum for Excellence Toolkit. This is a resource that we have developed to help college staff talk with confidence about Curriculum for Excellence. We hope you find it useful in complementing your own materials and in moving forward with Curriculum for Excellence.
Curriculum for Excellence has been introduced to raise standards of learning and teaching and help improve our learner’s life chances. Building on the best, it focuses on the importance of knowledge and skills and is about bringing life to learning and learning to life.
We hope this will assist you in your engagement with your learners, staff and other partners.

How to use the Toolkit
It is widely acknowledged that colleges are well advanced in the adoption of Curriculum for Excellence. This resource is one of a suite of resources made available for Scotland’s learning system tailored to different needs. It is intended for you to use as you judge appropriate as part of your communications related to Curriculum for Excellence. There is no prescribed way of delivering the message and there’s no prescribed script for any presentation; just as there’s no prescribed way of delivering Curriculum for Excellence.

A short explanation of Curriculum for Excellence and how it relates to colleges and their learners.A Learner Leaflet (1.72 MB) for you to distribute to your learners;

A leaflet designed for staff to use when talking to learners about what Curriculum for Excellence means for them. It gives learners material to take away with them describing Curriculum for Excellence. It should not be handed out without discussion.
