College wide talent show organised by Forth Valley College ACE group, (Alternative Curriculum for S4s).
Every year the students organise a big fundraising event to raise money for the group's residential activity weekend in Aviemore. 2010 was their most ambitious event to date, as they took over the big hall of the Falkirk campus and staff and students from across the three campuses battled it out for the coveted title of top performer.
The acts ranged from solo singers, comedians, dance acts and even a gospel choir!
With such a big event, it was all hands to the deck - with the girls from the ACE group performing, the boys controlling backstage and front of house and various other groups from across the college mucking in. The college's Social Enterprise group provided a refreshment service during the interval, the Newstart group filmed the event and our sound production students took on the role of controlling the sound desk and mics. Leading up to the event, organisers had to show great efforts preparing for the event. They built their work into a course project, designed and printed posters, flyers and table cloths in art classes leading up to event, tested the sound production and the lighting.
The event was extremely well supported, taken in the spirit it was intended, and through hard work and a great collective attitude, was a tremendous success. Well done to the ACE team. For clearly demonstrating enterprising activity, team work, collaboration and fund raising.
