The courses run by Stow College in Glasgow allow students to get hands on experience in all aspects of the music industry. They receive real training in A&R, Event Management, Marketing and Record Companies. The college has three award-winning record labels - Electric Honey, Gdansk and Root 8. Electric Honey has launched bands such as Belle and Sebastian, Snow Patrol and Biffy Clyro whiled Gdansk has promoted Mylo and Mellow Submarine. The newest label, Root 8, concentrates on the different areas of World Music. By working for one of these labels students gain valuable, hands-on industry experience.
