The Equality Practitioner Networks consist of staff from both colleges and universities which meet on a regular basis in three regional groupings: North, West and East. As a provider, Scotland’s College works with the Scottish Funding Council (SFC), the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and the Equality Challenge Unit (ECU) to support the networks.
The purpose of the regional networks is:
- To support the enhancement of equality and diversity within the sectors by supporting practitioners to deliver impact over and above legal compliance.
- To focus on the common agendas of both colleges and universities in relation to equality and diversity and to facilitate communication.
- To support the sharing of effective practice and enable problem solving.
- To horizon scan and signpost on key future issues with the aim of giving institutions confidence in how to respond to those issues.
