The repository for Scotland's colleges
The repository for Scotland’s colleges holds a large variety of learning and teaching resources developed specifically for use by staff in member colleges. Content ranges from full courses to short pieces of content which can be used to support specific learning.
Subject to licence conditions, staff in member colleges are free to use the repository materials to create their own resources, tailor made for their own learners’ needs. They can:
- use these materials in their current form
- take extracts from them, add their own content to them
- adapt or repurpose them for different contexts and learners
- upload materials to the repository to share with other colleges.
The repository is easy to access using local college authentication (such as Athens or Shibboleth). The college key contact will be able to advise on the access arrangements in your own college. With access you can:
- search within the repository
- download resources
- create links to resources
- use the materials for any educational purposes
- use the materials with any learners registered with their college
Sharing materials
You can use the repository to share resources within the college community. You can submit resources developed to teach whole courses, individual topics, single assets such as images, or useful links. Colleges have designated one or two people in their college who can upload resources on behalf of other staff. Your college key contact will be able to advise you how to submit resources for upload in your college.
Training
Scotland’s Colleges can offer both practical sessions and online training to users of the repository who wish to find out more about searching, previewing and accessing the learning materials. To arrange a workshop in your college, or more specific training, please contact Scotland’s Colleges to discuss your requirements. More information about the training we can offer can be found here.
