SVQ/MA Work Based Learning
SVQ/MA Work Based Learning Network

The Work Based Learning Network was set up in 2001 in order to support staff dedicated to this specialist area and is managed by a steering group of volunteers, consisting of manager's and practitioners from a range of Scotland's colleges and key partner agencies.

From April 2005, membership has increased from 7 to 30 of the 43 Scotland's colleges (and we are working on the rest). The Steering Group has diverted its energies into creating an action plan of support to Scotland's colleges in relation to the work based learning agenda.

The Steering Group aims to support the wider College Network in relation to Work Based Learning in the following ways:

  • Development of an enhanced communication strategy with a view to:
    - Sharing ideas and best practice
    - Widening geographical and knowledge based spread of Network and SteeringGroup members
  • Development of an improving performance strategy for MA/Skillseeker work based learning activity in Scotland's colleges
  • Facilitating the sharing of current and emerging policies and information in relation to work-based training
  • Supporting work-based learning curriculum development in Scotland's colleges

If you are involved in work-based learning, then network membership will be of value to you, and your experience and knowledge of work based training will be of value to the wider further education sector.
