John MacKay is the news anchor on the STV News at Six. A journalist for more than twenty years, he has covered most of the major stories in Scotland in that time, including the creation of the Scottish Parliament, the Dunblane shootings and Rangers and Celtic's appearances in European finals. He has reported for STV News from across Europe and from the US.

His video blog for STV, 'The Real MacKay' has developed a cult following and he recently wrote and produced an STV documentary on Sir Alex Ferguson.

John is the author of three bestselling books, 'The Road Dance', 'Heartland' and 'Last of the Line'- all published by Luath Press.
