The MIS Community of Practice represents staff with responsibility for managing the information system within their college, defined as the system which includes SUMS, FES, PIs, student data, estates information, Health and Safety information, course information and staffing information. It is open to all colleges no matter which MIS system is used. The key purpose of the MIS CoP is to assist MIS staff to make an impact on college life. The steering group meetings focus on planning and organising the agenda for the two seminar events and one annual conference per year. Aims

MIS Working Group
The MIS CoP instigated the Scottish Colleges' MIS Working Group, which is working with the SQA, to address issues relevant to Scotland's colleges. The MIS Working Group has a sector-wide operational focus on issues that affect colleges whereas the SQA Operational Forum has a sector-wide strategic focus on issues that affect colleges.
