Professional Development CoP

The Professional Development Community of Practice represents staff development managers in Scotland's colleges. It has a steering group which acts in an advisory capacity and examines the nature of Professional Development in Scottish colleges.

Aims

  • to provide a two-way communication link with the Professional, Learning and Development Forum
  • to facilitate an exchange of views which will encourage best practice in the delivery and development of CPD
  • to provide a mechanism for consultation and a channel for communication with other agencies.

The Remit of the Steering Group includes:

  • to consider the CPD needs of staff in colleges in Scotland
  • to identify appropriate methods of fulfilling these needs
  • to encourage collaboration and promote best practice
  • to advise on training and development activities in consultation with other relevant groups/forums
