The Professional Development Community of Practice represents staff development managers in Scotland's colleges. It has a steering group which acts in an advisory capacity and examines the nature of Professional Development in Scottish colleges.
Aims
- to provide a forum for those involved in co-ordinating CPD to meet and discuss relevant issues
- to provide a two-way communication link with the Professional, Learning and Development Forum
- to facilitate an exchange of views which will encourage best practice in the delivery and development of CPD
- to provide a mechanism for consultation and a channel for communication with other agencies.
The Remit of the Steering Group includes:
- to consider the CPD needs of staff in colleges in Scotland
- to identify appropriate methods of fulfilling these needs
- to encourage collaboration and promote best practice
- to advise on training and development activities in consultation with other relevant groups/forums
- to advise and monitor the progress of any working groups established to perform specific activities.
