Teach Me Financial Capability

Do you want to improve your money management skills?

Teach Me Financial Capability is a new qualification in Adult Financial Capability accredited by the Open College Network (OCN).

Who is it for? The course is for anyone who is looking to improve their knowledge of financial capability. It is particularly appropriate to FE practitioners, teachers and community workers.

The course

You will complete the course through interactive online learning which is broken down into bite-sized chunks. It covers a series of core financial topics including product knowledge, financial exclusion and its implications, as well as key terminology and sources of help and support.

The course takes approximately 30 hours to complete plus the final assignment. Once you have completed the course, you will achieve a nationally-recognised qualification in Adult Financial Capability.

Teach Others Financial Capability

Do you want to be able to teach your students how to manage their money better?

Teach Others Financial Capability is a new qualification which will enable those who are not qualified teachers – such as community or advice workers – to plan and facilitate financial capability sessions and workshops.

Who is it for? Those working or volunteering in non-teaching positions within FE, outreach centres and key agencies in the community.

The course

The aim of this short course is to enable those working or volunteering in non-teaching positions within further education, outreach centres and key agencies in the community to be able to teach others financial capability. By undertaking the course, you will gain:
  • basic facilitation skills
  • the confidence to deliver short programmes or workshops
  • a nationally recognised qualification.

A two day taught curriculum will enable participants to achieve a recognised qualification in Teaching Financial Capability and deliver training to support their clients.
