Breathing Space is a free and confidential phone helpline (0800 83 85 87) and website to help people, particularly young men, when they are experiencing low mood, depression or other mental health problems. The Breathing Space website provides information about some of the more common problems in our lives and where to start in addressing these problems; as well as a self-help toolkit. Depression Alliance Scotland is working towards a future where depression is recognised, understood and acknowledged to be a common and treatable medical condition, just like any other. We are striving to ensure that those affected by depression and their carers are provided with the information, support, understanding and care needed for the best quality of life. Mental Health Foundation offers information and advice on a range of mental health issues. Samaritans offer a 24 hour phone line for people in distress from local branches. Scottish Association for Mental Health is a leading national charity working to support people who experience mental health difficulties and distress. |
