National Training Initiatives
ASIST is Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training and it is being rolled out across Scotland as part of the Choose Life strategy. This two day workshop equips people with the skills and confidence to know how to intervene when they come across a person who is suicidal.

Breathing Space
is a free and confidential phone helpline (0800 83 85 87) and website to help people, particularly young men, when they are experiencing low mood, depression or other mental health problems. The Breathing Space website provides information about some of the more common problems in our lives and where to start in addressing these problems; as well as a self-help toolkit.

Highland Users Group
is a collective advocacy group, which represents the interests of users of mental health services across the Highlands. Speakers from HUG will come to events and conferences to talk about their work, which includes challenging stigma.

Mentally Healthy Workplaces Training
is free training for employersto encourage positive mental health at work. It is provided by the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives.

National Schizophrenia Fellowship
works to improve the wellbeing and quality of life of those affected by schizophrenia and other mental illness, including families and carers. They hold regular events and conferences and publish a range of leaflets.

Penumbra
is one of Scotland's largest mental charities and amongst many other services it offers training to colleges and universities on young people and mental health.

Scottish Association for Mental Health
is a leading Scottish Mental Health charity offering a range of services including workshops and training.

Scottish Recovery Network
aims to promote and support recovery from long-term mental health problems in Scotland. They offer workshops, training programmes and guest speakers to interested organisations.

Scotland's Mental Health First Aid
is a national training initiative that uses the model of physical first aid to teach people what to do in a mental health crisis. Training is offered across Scotland by approved trainers.

The See Me campaign exists to challenge stigma and discrimination around mental health difficulties and issues. They offer a large amount of resources and materials to support awareness raising training.

Samaritans offer a range of resources and information including a Youth Pack with special information for educators.

Healthy Working Lives
has a Healthy Working Lives Award Programme supports employers and employees to develop health promotion and safety themes in the workplace in a practical, logical way, that's beneficial to all.

Scottish Training on Drugs and Alcohol (STRADA)
provides a range of training, education and development opportunities to staff working in the drug and alcohol field. Whether you are looking for a short course of study or an academic programme, they can offer a variety of options for you and your organisation.

SuicideTALK
is a short exploration and awareness session which encourages people to explore their attitudes and feelings about suicide, based around the question "should we talk about suicide?". It can take between one to three hours and content can be adapted to meet the needs of the group.
