General Information

The Subject Networks provide opportunities for debate, discussion, collaboration and sharing information.


Subject networks' core purposes are to:

  • Act as a hub of publicity for breaking news, policies and practices to subject practitioners
  • Respond to needs through generic and contextualised, progressive professional development
  • Act as a catalyst for the sharing of good practice, case studies and materials
  • Adopt practices of delivery similar to those expected of college practitioners
  • Share, collaborate and develop strong links with key partners and stakeholders
  • Endeavour to use our position to influence change and policy

We achieve our core purposes by:

  • Embracing modern communication technologies to inform, engage, enable
  • Involving key stakeholders and leaders in our processes
  • Targeting key initiatives and policies
  • Having regular internal and external communication via an up-to-date database of contacts
  • Providing timely, appropriate and accessible professional development for practitioners
  • Undertaking rigorous measurement and evaluation of impact of our processes and achievements
